  2. You and Jamie's opinion on training instinctively around some sort of lifting philosophy, but doing what the fuck your feeling like vs. training on a laid-out program such as 5/3/1.

  3. paul, you said you have a bad sweet tooth. how do you stay motivated to not eat junk.

  4. Who would you guys go toe to toe with (alive or dead) and why?

What do you think the defining factor was that made old school strongmen so fucking insanely strong pre-steroids? I'm talking one-arm 700+ deads and the like.

    1. I second this, Re: Goerner with the deads & Saxon with the O.H. work.

      Fucking Diesel Strength

Jamie has some old blog posts (Baddest MF'ers ever) that has some details about these guys, but i'd love to hear your thoughts on how they trained and what made them so fucking awesome.

  5. What do you guys think of the importance and benefits os explosive lifting for size and strenght?
I don´t mean dynamic effort/speed work, but lifting the heaviest load you can while still being explosive every rep, not grinding.
A lot of respectable coaches such as Pendlay, Waterbury, Pavel and Jason Ferruggia swear its the best way to go.

  6. Training:
    1) I have started taking Judo 2-4x per week. As a result I have cut lifting back to twice a week with one day being squats, bench, chins, dips, curls and ab work. The second day being deadlifts, press, dips, pendlay rows, curls and ab work. Problem is my bicep tendons are giving me grief. I have had microtears and tendonitis in both bicep tendons in the past. Any suggestions on how I should switch up my training to manage? (Right now I am relying on anti-imflamatories, ice, fish oil and foam rolling to keep pain in check).

    2) How strong should a guy get before losing the weight belt? I know both of you are big on lifting without a belt but you fuckers are already beasts. Right now my lifts with a belt are around 285/475/550 for bench/squat/DL. Should I just back off on the weight and work back up with no belt now or hold off till I am more around the 315/500/600 range?

    Misc:
    1) For one million dollars cash(up from a grand...for obvious reasons) would you give a random homeless man a rusty trombone? (Also the homeless guy went through blood/medical tests and had no diseases you would catch + everyone would know, and it may even be posted to youtube)

    2) What would be your gameplan if a zombie apocalypse were to break out tomorrow? What things would you take with you to survive? And what do you think the best method for fucking up some zombies would be?

  8. Hi guys,

Thanks for the first podcast you guys did. Awesome work.

    Two main questions:

    1. Where do you guys get your protein powder (assuming you do)?
    2. I'd love to get your thoughts on DC training. I think Paul has some experience with it, if I remember correctly. Jamie, any experiments with the DC philosophy?

Sub-questions under #2: How did you set it up? Would you recommend it to someone with a decent strength base looking to get bigger? What did you like/dislike, and why did you eventually move away from it?

    Thanks,

    Jay

  9. I would be really interested in hearing you guys talk about the benefits of pressing behind the neck versus to the front. I'm aware that this may be viewed as minutia but I don't think I have ever read about the benefits of one versus the other. Thanks guys for doing this- the first was very entertaining!

  10. 1) will doing 3 full body workouts a week not be beneficial for muscle gains, even if you keep it under 60 min.
    2) i am not intrested in competing in powerlifting or olympic lifting, but i am interested in getting as strong as i can, so as far as squating, what is the best type of squats i can use? should i focus on squating with a bounce like olympic lifters? maybe pause squats? i don't realy like box squats, i want to know both your opitions on this.
    3) standing overhead press vs bench press, is one better measure for upper body strength than the other?
    thanks in advance

  11. What's the leanest you've ever been , and how do you feel about dudes that train to be strong but also care about how the look, i.e "power building"

  12. Have you ever farted during a squat? Did it help get you through the sticking point?

    1. If so, could this be a strategy to pull off a big squat in a meet? Maybe load up on baked beans the night before

  13. have you ever done or trained handstand pushups or any sort of extreme movement like a front lever, planche, one arm chin?

  14. If you were training to hold up a chick for a ninety or so minute fuck session, how would you train? Set it up like a meet cycle? Deadlifts? Zerchers? Lots of conditioning? Run wild with it. For the sake of the question, let's say she's 135 lbs.

    1. This will definitely be answered as Jamie will love the chance to talk about fucking fat chicks again

  16. Favorite movie villain?

    Pissing outdoors: fucking awesome, right?

How ugly would you go in a celebrity just for the bragging rights in banging a celebrity? For example, would you fuck Maggie Gyllenhaal? Or would you stoop to Whoopi Goldberg levels and beyond?

What animals do you think you could take in a fight? Most dogs? A baby deer? A small giraffe?

  17. Question for both of you, what are your thoughts on lift specialization programs. Basically a program where you hit 1 lift or its variations high frequency for a month or so. I think Jamie mentioned something about increasing his OHP by doing it everyday in the last podcast. Smolov Jr is an example of one of these programs.

  18. I would also like to hear more about both of your "no belt" philosphies. Maybe even your thoughts on this Stuart McGill article (what you agree/diagree with):http://www.nsca-lift.org/hottopic/download/nsca%20weight%20belts%20-%20v3.pdf

Also, I know Jamie hates HIIT, but what do you think of Tabata-style training?

  19. Can you discuss double penetration positioning for minimal testicle contact between the guys?

  20. Does Jamie bottom for Trannies?

  21. Why do you guys think the US lags behind Eastern countries in areas of health and fitness? European and Asian nations seem to be ahead of the curve whereas everything becomes a trend here much later. Stuff like yoga, kettlebells, alternative medicine, fasting, and whatever else there is. I tend to get the feeling in the US everything becomes overly complicated because of people jumping on the bandwagon.

    Thoughts?

  22. 1) I found out that Jamie Lewis was a wrestler. Where did he wrestle and how well did he do? I'm going to be wrestling college so I would appreciate any tips/hints. I hear college wrestling is the hardest sport a human could do. I'm kind of curious about the CnP way of wrestling. Maybe some conditioning advice before I hit the mats. Would be greatly appreciated.

    2) Can you give some good book recommendations? A new book store opened up near me and I'm really looking for some good books to pick up, but I'm not sure where to start.

    Thanks.

P.S. kick ass that you guys are going to be making this into a thing.

  23. Any thoughts on the Hepburn routine? Have either of you experience with it?

    Thanks.

  24. What do you guys think about the Tnation/Biotest scam and their "miracle" supplement protocols that work better than steroids but cost $1000 a week ? On the same page, what are you guys opinion on Christian Thibaudeau, is he a genius and genetic wonder like he claims or just your regular guru on a gram of test ?

  28. High volume pulling in the form of oly lifts. Is it better to do variations of the same lift in low volume (power hang clean, power clean, high pull, all with warmups moving to working sets of 3x3) or one lift (high pull 10x3) in a single session?
