Training - Fronts and deficit stiff legs

Bodyweight - 270

Front squats -

225 x 8 sets of 5  VMO is still "iffy"
315x5  no pain.  will still be cautious.

Deficit stiff leg deadlifts -

225x3
315x3
405x3
500x2

585x3

Notes - The triple wasn't very hard.  Will go for 4 next week.  When I can do this for 6 a few sessions in a row I will move on to 605.

  1. Hey Paul, very strong pulls! What are your thoughts on snatch grip dead lifts? Thanks for all of the info. Great blog.

    1. Not a fan. I know lots of guys like them but I don't care for them very much.

    2. I'm pretty unclear about what they are really supposed to do for you. I find it nearly impossible to get scapular retraction with a wide grip like that. Just do deficit as an assistance lift?

  2. Look at the build on that guy at the cables! You should probably get on those cable shoulder things instead of your snaplifts.

  3. Hey paul how are you programming your stiff leggs? Starting the 3 rm and turning it to 6rm for a few weeks then move up??

    1. I generally know what weight I will be working with for a while and I just slowly milk more and more reps out of it. For stuff like stiff legs i don't program. I just pick a weight and work with it for a while.
