Standing Wide Grip Press Behind the Neck - 95 x 20 x 20 x 20

Got some kind of summer cold now.  Was sweating buckets the whole time.  By the end I was covered in sweat and very sexy looking.

  1. Hi Paul,

When you do Good mornings are you looking for hamstring strength, back strength, or different goals at different times? Do you switch stances at all for this lift? I find that although the gm is relatively simple looking it can get quite complex in its application and there is a lot of room for changes in emphasis and stimulus, etc. Just wondering what your thoughts on that lift are.

    Cheers, Brian

  2. Brian,

I go light on GM's now. I've done 450+ for reps on them but I personally think they do a hell of a lot more for you if you lighten up on them, stretch out the hams and glutes and arch hard.

My stance is pretty similar as my squat stance, feet about shoulder width. I concentrate on pushing the glutes back and arching hard and then I really feel my hams and glutes working. That's what I am after there. So keep it light and you'll see better rewards with this movement.
