Hey Paul you write in LRB how important it is to Have your upper arms parallel to the floor in the bottom of the bench press and i have seen this written by dave tate and others as well. they say it puts too much pressure on the shoulder to go any lower. just how important is it because if i only bring my arms to parallel the bar is about 4 or 5 inches from touching still. i have tried changing grip width, tuckage and getting more of an arch but it makes no difference. either i have really long forearms or im way too thin.
Cheers Paul, i had a look. My shoulders arent doing anything like that so i think im good. Ive never had any sort of pain or problems and i do plenty of face pulls and band pull aparts so im not too worried

ReplyDeleteA better way to look at it is to check my raw bench series. It should be that your shoulder shouldn't drop down below the bench very far. Go check it.
