This was possibly our best podcast to date. I know we've said that many times, but I think it's true this time.
There is a TON of great information in this one, and Kiefer fit in about as perfectly as someone could.
It's roughly 2.5 hours and we run the gauntlet of everything from the list of "fit" athletes that Men's Fitness listed to Carb Backloading to krocadile (again) to comic book women we would bang.
Holy shit, you guys went all out. I can't wait to hear this shit.ReplyDelete
Ya'll should love the news that the governing body responsible for the Tour de France is stripping Armstrong of his titles. That list of "fittest people" was retarted, it's like they just picked 100 people who work out (maybe) and also happen to be famous. I just picked up SLL yesterday, so far it's been a great read, thanks!ReplyDelete
Lyle McDonald lifting:ReplyDelete
I think it was the last podcast where you guys mentioned that deadlift soreness/pump should mostly be in the upper back and hamstrings, and minimally in the lower back. Unfortunately, the place I usually feel it though is indeed the lower back.
I think my form is pretty decent, however do you have any cues or things I should focus on that might put me in better pulling position so I can feel it in all the right places? Thanks.
Some guys do get sore in the low back, however it generally means you are not holding a neutral position or arch back there when you are pulling. I may do a deadlift vid soon to talk a little more about this.Delete
I'm halfway through the podcast right now and I just want to thank you for taking the time to do this. This is the best one yet by a mile and I've learned more relevant shit in 140 minutes than in my (incomplete) formal education in Kinesiology.ReplyDelete
Additionally, I was the one who made the "cognitive vs cognizant" comment to Jamie and gave you shit for it in some reddit thread too. Other than that incessantly irritating error, your book was tits.
I still have one hour to finish listening, but this podcast has already proven to be one of the best. It was awesome. Really.ReplyDelete
This has become my favorite podcast! Great mix of all things Chaos&Bang!ReplyDelete
I feel like butts were hurt over the "baby gap" comment I posted. I could give a fuck if you guys wear pink tube tops, just keep posting quality content. Shit like your podcasts/sites is hard to come by on an internet full of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LwYD9ebSy4ReplyDelete
The "baby gap" comment comes from a chic I know. there is more to my life than to get butt hurt over something you or anyone else writes. My wife and kids could butt hurt me because they matter. EVeryone else? Not so much.Delete
Haha alright, good stuff. Best of luck on your rehab.Delete
This was the best podcast so far, couldn't agree more.. goddamn.ReplyDelete
Great podcast..but just wonder why people continue to split hairs over things like insulin spikes and nutrient timing in regards to fat loss and muscle gain when it has little to no effect on the big picture: net calorie intake/loss at the end of the day.ReplyDelete
It's almost confusing to see someone like Kiefer spend all this time researching and citing things to create a protocol like carb backloading that still only boils down to the amount of calories you're taking in at the end of the day/week. Why make it harder than it is?
Insulin management is a pretty big deal, actually. As Kiefer and I both noted, it's the most powerful hormone in the body and it's only purpose is to build tissue. Managing it properly is a big key in getting as big and as strong as you can.Delete
Thanks for taking the time out of your life to put out all the content you do. I look forward to it and enjoy it immensely. You guys really get it and that is rare. Also, for every loud whiny douche out there complaining about this or that there are just as many silent appreciative fans if not a lot more. They just aren't as vocal about it.ReplyDelete
Heading out to find a dead cat on the side of the road...Sounds elite! HahahahaReplyDelete
I can't get this podcast to work?
