Hip update

Saw my PT tonight.  Good news is that nothing appears to be torn.  Apparently my right glute is pretty dormant.  So my hip corkscrews from the right side in.  I shift when I go up and down.  It's a motor firing issue.  So I have to get that right glute to firing better when I squat.  I have no idea if I will be pain free for the meet, but I'm going to go ballz out on the therapy until then.

What's funny is, I had this strange feeling that it was a glute issue, with my glutes not firing correctly.  I guess it's time to get my ba-donka-donk on.

  3. I'm real interested in following how you will deal with this. I've never been diagnosed by a professional, but I feel like I have a dominant left glute and/or lazy and poorly firing right glute. I can forcefully contract and more easily control movement in my left glute, but some days I struggle to even willfully contract my right glute. Good luck to you.

  4. Paul:

    doing the same thing here.

Glute bridges, lunges and really focusing on my glutes during a squat and deadlift, going into posterior tilt at the top each time.

It seems to help but it's very easy to overdo.

Maybe it's from the low amount of assistance work we tend to do normally? Either way, good luck.

  5. Hello mate, i think i have the same problem.
My left glute isnt as big as my right and sometimes when i squat my left hip flexor hurts loads when i squat.
Ive found when i do that cossack squat the diesel crew made a video about before squatting i dont get the pain and everything feels even.
I do it unweighted and hold at the bottom for a few seconds, can feel a nice stretch all down the inside of my leg.
Hope it helps you too buddy.

  6. Hey guys - I have some rehab exercises to do (I will put them up later) and a stretch I have to perform. This weekend I won't squat. Leg presses, lunges and all the glute work.

  8. yea i heard it too, super bird dogs about 2 sets of 10-12 reps along with b.w. glute bridghes help with firing, i used to do those before i squat. i also read someone as tacky as it may seem is while walking to squeeze your ass cheeks as hard as you can almsot as if you can make ur lower back crack or your tailbone crack, as funny as it sounds it worked for me lol
