Notes - Felt like crap still.  This time just from staying up too late, but it was worth it as I watched some movies with the kiddos and laughed all night.  80%er but the hip flexor is really hurting.  I did get the rumble roller as many suggested.  So see, I take advice too.  Whores.

  1. Have you tried the rumble roller yet? It looks like a torture device.

    1. Yes, it's quite painful, but it does allow for some immediate relief. Which is cool.

  2. I noticed you didn't use a belt in these squat sets. I'm new to your blog so I'm not sure if you have covered this in the past but what are your thoughts on belts? I have been lifting for a long time, and played football in college I had a few different strength and conditioning coaches and was exposed to a couple of different philosophies. One coach would not let us use belts, his thought was that they don't allow you to properly strengthen muscles in the core and back and lead to more injuries so for a long time I did not use a belt now I do usually I warm up to about 350 than use the belt for heavier warm ups, and work sets. Just wanted to see what your thoughts on belt V no belt were. As a side note awesome blog!

    1. If you look at any of my vids, I never wear a belt. I haven't in over 10 years (at least).

I think using a belt is a real personal thing. If you look around the blog a bit I've talked about this at length many times on why I don't anymore, and quit years ago. And I agree with your coach.
