  1. I'm so fucking sick of this Paleo bullshit. Keep doing what your doing in trying to demystify this nonsense Paul!

  2. I don't think there's anything wrong with Paleo. It's more of a philosophy than anything else: Eat lean meats, veggies, fruits, and nuts.

It's about eating REAL food, which I think would probably seriously decrease the incidence of diabetes and CHD.

Unfortunately, like most things, it gets twisted into something it's not. Some people do super strict paleo dieting, acting like anthropologists and say shit like, "Oh, I can't eat that because humans only started eating it 10,000 years ago when they formed villages." That may be true, but there's still a lot of great food out there that can be healthy.

The shit that people are eating today is so full of sugar and empty calories. Ask a morbidly obese person how they got that way, and if they're being honest with you (most will have some excuses) they'll probably say they: 1) Never exercised, 2)Ate processed foods such as pastas, fast food, soft drinks, chips, etc. and 3)Probably never exercised any control over portion size or spacing of meals.

    1. That's what I was getting at when I said "I ate too much oatmeal, brown rice, and sweet potatoes" said no fat person ever.

The carb hate has gone to a level that is hard to fathom. I mean, no one really knows how people ate during the paleolithic era anyway. It's all conjecture.

Paleo is a fine diet....just not for building mass.

  4. Facepalm! Who thought you could gain mass eating paleo? I thought Louie Simmons put that to rest years ago! I've been paleo for fours now and I love eating like that but, I've been the same weight the entire time. The only time I have gained any weight is when I trashed up my diet. On purpose mind you.
The Paleo Diet as outlined by Loren Cordain, Robb Wolf and others has been adapted to working out. Initially, it was a means to end when dealing with metabolic diseases. People love their cult diets though.
BTW, sweet potatoes are a gift for God.

  5. Anyone ever read Manthropology? Pretty interesting book....one thing he talks about is that ancient man actually had a larger cranial vault (bigger brain)than we have and there is also a lot of evidence pointing to the fact that they knew shit about tools, medicine, etc. looong before we THINK they did. So, I'm pretty sure "Paleo" dieting really means eating anything that grows from the ground or has a beating heart. I'm not sure it's accurate to say you CAN'T gain mass eating Paleo, you'd just have to eat the most calorically dense shit you can get your hands on, like starchy carbs and fatty meats. Fruits and veggies ain't gonna get the job done.
